"Thin, Tenon, and Joint" - The intersection of domestic materials, hidden design, and new structures

📐 Designer's Notes

The seemingly simple geometric form reflects years of exploration into materials, structure, and future lifestyles. We reinterpret the relationship between wood and technology through three core concepts: thinness, tenon, and joint.

  • 🔹Thin: The ultimate thinning process makes magnetic attachment and removal as light and intuitive as breathing.
  • 🔹 Mortise: It adopts an evolved hidden mortise structure with embedded magnets and no exposed mechanism, reflecting the aesthetics of Japanese hidden design.
  • 🔹Connection: The modular connection between multiple objects expands the possibilities of functionality and form, and is an experiment in the language of three-dimensional structure.
🌲 About our love for domestic materials

The wood used in this work is all domestically sourced from Taiwan , a tribute not only to the landscape but also a profound response to the material's potential. Each type of wood, from its grain, hardness, to its moisture content, influences its ability to achieve the desired "thin" proportions, the precision of its "tenons," and the stability of its "joints."

We have long been engaged in research into the processing of domestically produced wood, continuously optimizing the synergy between CNC finishing and hand finishing, from cutting parameters to thermal effects . This is more than just a choice of materials; it's a design relationship forged with the mountains and forests of Taiwan.

🔌 More possibilities
  • 📱 Suitable for all iPhone series that support MagSafe
  • 📐 Can be combined with other WKidea modules for functional extension and space configuration
🪵 We believe that design can be the power of whispering

This is more than just a stand or storage device; it's a concrete expression of the fusion of "structural language," "local woodwork," and "implicit design philosophy." Every time you place your phone on it, it's the beginning of a reconnection with your daily rhythm.
