A rollerball pen with a Taiwan hinoki cap and barrel
The Island Wood Rollerball Pen is the rollerball version of the Island Wood Pen series. Both the cap and the barrel are Taiwan hinoki; the pen is about 145 mm long, 10 mm in diameter and weighs about 27 g, fitted with a German SCHMIDT 888F rollerball refill.
Taiwan hinoki outside, brass structure inside
The cap and barrel are made of Taiwan hinoki, with its pale yellow grain and natural scent. The barrel has a dual-layer construction: a Taiwan hinoki outer layer supported inside by a brass structure.
Each pen comes from a different piece of wood. Sawing direction, growth-ring width and heartwood or sapwood position all change the grain and color. Knots and grain variations are natural features of real wood, not defects.
Replaceable SCHMIDT 888F rollerball refill
The refill is a 888F rollerball refill made by German stationery maker SCHMIDT, 0.7 mm. A rollerball pen needs no bottled ink — simply replace the refill when it runs out. WKidea offers a lifetime refill supply.
Black paper box
The pen ships in a black paper box with a window on the lid that shows the barrel — for yourself or as a gift.
