A fountain pen you write with in Taiwan hinoki
The Island Wood Fountain Pen is the fountain pen version of the Island Wood Pen series. The barrel and clip are Taiwan hinoki; the pen is about 14.5 cm long and 1.1 cm in diameter, fitted with a German SCHMIDT F nib.
Taiwan hinoki barrel and wooden clip
The barrel and clip are made of Taiwan hinoki, with its pale yellow grain and natural scent. The cap and inner structure are metal parts. Made in Taiwan.
Each pen comes from a different piece of wood. Sawing direction, growth-ring width and heartwood or sapwood position all change the grain and color. Knots and grain variations are natural features of real wood, not defects.
SCHMIDT F nib, about the width of a ballpoint
The nib is an F fountain pen nib made by German stationery maker SCHMIDT. Its line width is close to a regular ballpoint pen, and it writes smoothly without scratching the paper — good for copying text, drafts, signatures, or larger handwriting.
Fill it with bottled ink using the included converter, or use widely available standard international ink cartridges.
Two packaging options, for yourself or as a gift
Black paper box (NT$2,580): The pen, converter and cartridge come in a black paper box with a window on the lid that shows the barrel.
Mahogany pen box (NT$3,580): Adds a mahogany drawer pen box designed by WKidea, about 168 × 40 × 25 mm. It stores the pen and can also hold it upright. The pen box comes in a cork inner box and a black outer box:
| Mahogany pen box | Mahogany, approx. 168 × 40 × 25 mm, drawer style, stands upright and stores the pen |
| Cork inner box | Full cork paper made from oak bark produced in Portugal, SGS certified; approx. 192 × 80 × 33 mm |
| Black outer box | German FSC eco-friendly matte black colored paper (3 mm thick); approx. 200 × 90 × 40 mm |
How to change the ink
01 Unscrew the nib section.
02 Remove the converter or the empty cartridge.
03 Draw bottled ink with the converter, or insert a new standard international cartridge.
04 Screw the nib section back on and start writing.

FAQ
Q: What ink can I use?
A: Bottled fountain pen ink with the included converter, or standard international ink cartridges.
Q: How wide does the F nib write?
A: The SCHMIDT F nib writes a line about as wide as a regular ballpoint pen, good for copying text, drafts and signatures.
Q: How do I change the ink?
A: Unscrew the nib section, remove the converter or cartridge, insert new ink and screw the nib section back on.
Q: What is the difference between the two packaging options?
A: The black paper box option is NT$2,580. The mahogany pen box option is NT$3,580 and adds a mahogany drawer pen box (approx. 168 × 40 × 25 mm) with a cork inner box and black outer box. The pen itself is the same.
Q: Can I add engraving?
A: Yes, on the barrel, free of charge. Text and length are adjusted to your request — add it in the order note, or confirm with us via LINE or email.
Q: When will it ship?
A: In stock, ships in 2–3 business days.
Q: Will the grain look the same as the photos?
A: Not exactly. Each pen uses a different piece of wood, so grain, color and knot positions vary.
Q: Will hand sweat change the color of the wood?
A: Natural wood gradually changes in color and feel with use and time. Regular beeswax care on the wooden parts keeps the surface clean and smooth.
