Taiwan incense cedar (Calocedrus formosana) is a precious native conifer species in Taiwan, with fine grain, a refined scent, and a naturally warm texture. This piece features a 2.5mm incense cedar veneer over a 304 stainless steel body, with a double-sided matte black nano-plating finish, letting wood's natural language and metal's precision craft coexist in a single object.

Geometric, sculptural form — a craft challenge in just 2.5mm

Unlike traditional chamfered designs, WKidea carves a three-dimensional geometric form into a wood veneer only 2.5mm thick, requiring precise control over every edge cut. After alcohol treatment shifts the wood fibers, repeated hand-sanding and waxing produce an understated, natural matte sheen — warm to the touch, without losing its refinement.
