[Domestic Material] Geometric Side-Push Sliding-Lid Business Card Holder
Geometric Side-Push Sliding-Lid Business Card Holder · Domestic Wood Series
Weaving "humility" into a single motion
Exchanging a business card is the most critical "first-impression ritual" in any business encounter. We drew inspiration from this, translating the respect embedded in Japanese business etiquette into a concrete design language.
Our proprietary patented side-push structure lets the lid open not outward, but slide inward. This inward motion symbolizes restraint and humility, turning your respect and regard for the other person into an unhurried, elegant gesture. Through this understated slide, WKidea hopes to make a business card more than a cold piece of information — but a warm, humble gesture of hospitality.
Built for a smooth experience, every time
Pure geometry
No engraving needed · direction is self-evident

A mark of your own
Name · brand · a message
Asymmetric chamfers · guiding your fingertip
Unlike traditional uniform rounded edges, we applied differentiated chamfers and facets to the box body and the lid separately. When you touch or look at it, you naturally sense which side slides open — even without engraved text, the geometric contour and finger feel let you intuitively judge the lid's position.
👆 Visually, you'll notice a subtle but clear geometric shift where the lid meets the body; by touch, your thumb easily finds the point to push inward.
🌲 A business card with warmth
We chose domestic Taiwanese wood, deeply connected to this land, as the home for this business card holder. When a card sits for a while inside the warm wooden box, it quietly absorbs the wood's distinctive natural scent. Take Taiwan hinoki, for example — the moment you hand over your card, a subtle, soothing fragrance comes along with it. This invisible olfactory memory not only deepens the professional impression you leave, but quietly conveys Taiwan's distinctive warmth as well.

Completing a gesture of respect
Weaving "humility" into the motion
- Press the lid with your left thumb and slide it gently toward yourself along the slope (symbolizing restraint and humility).
- Feel the perfect resistance of the magnetic mechanism as the card emerges automatically, with grace.
- Pick up the card steadily with both hands, completing this gesture of utmost respect and professionalism.
Five-step care routine
- Wipe the card holder clean with a lint-free cloth.
- Apply a small amount of natural beeswax evenly onto the wood surface.
- Let it rest for ten minutes so the beeswax fully absorbs into the wood fibers.
- Remove any excess wax from the surface with a clean cloth.
- Leave it in a cool, shaded spot to air-dry naturally.
Complimentary engraving is available, letting you mark a name, brand, or a personal message on the box for a style that's uniquely yours. (Please reach out through our official channels.)

"Through wood, weaving the island's warmth and everyday ritual into daily life."
From a single inward slide to a hint of Taiwanese wood's fragrance, WKidea has always believed that beautiful objects can be woven into everyday life. Rooted in Taiwan, we draw inspiration from this island's mountains and forests, using original design and digital craft to turn abstract ideas like "humility," "warmth," and "ritual" into tangible, everyday-carry craft pieces meant to be touched and to stay with you.
We're not just making business card holders — we're creating a medium for conveying respect and genuine feeling. Through wood, letting every first meeting be warm and memorable.
